Roccheggiani have significant expertise in designing and manufacturing air handling units suitable for use within food industries and applications where the highest hygiene has to be ensured. Units present specific features studied to facilitate washing and sterilization of the inner parts. Nonetheless the adopted materials guarantee high restistance against corrosion.

The panels and the profiles

The panel is made of a special structure with a step shape that cuts the leakage of air by means of a special seal resistant to several types of disinfection (chlorination) that, in the coupling with the profile allows obtain a surface free of internal protrusions; all inside surfaces are rounded off thus improving the aeraulic characteristics and making very smooth and easy the necessary operations of cleaning and maintenance, in this way the units are particularly suitable for hospital, food and for use in all those environments in which always must be guaranteed the best conditions of hygiene. The particular shape makes possible the complete removal of internal components, thus making the area free from any impediment to a perfect sanitization and sterilization of the unit.

The heat exchange coils

They are mounted on rails in stainless steel AISI 304 which allow an easy extraction.The condensate collection basin single slope built with self discharge is entirely made of stainless steel AISI 304. The droplets separator is made by a stainless steel AISI 304 structure and fins in polypropylene or stainless steel AISI 304.

Fan section

The impellers are made by corrosionless composite materials or in galvanized steel coated by a protective epoxy layer. 

The dampers

The modulation dampers with opposite moving wings are made in sheets of aluminium. The fins are fixed to a U-frame casing on nylon bushings, and the gaskets ensure a perfect seal. 

The silencers

The silencer have sound attenuators with rectangular sections, made of mineral wool with density not below than 50 Kg/m3, covered by an anti-flaking protection fibreglass film with 0.12 mm minimum thickness. The container frame is made of stainless steel AISI 304. 

The germicide lamps

UV germicide lamps can be installed to prevent growth of microorganisms and bacteria. This type of sterilization equires, however, a high degree of filtration to ensure the effective exposure of microorganisms to the ultraviolet radiation without loss of performance due to dirty lamps.
